Last May, our newsletter included an extensive article Americans continue a home-based lifestyle and less in personal socializing. We now have data through 2023.
We zeroed in on face-to-face socialization for the 25-45 age group, a significant age group for most adult-oriented location-based entertainment venues. The percentage of this age group participating in face-to-face socializing as well as their time spent on it is down significantly from two decades ago and down from pre-Covid 2019. However, attendance or hosting parties/receptions and time socializing face-to-face have shown an upward trend since 2021. In 2019, the 25-44 age group spent 4 hours, 21 minutes socializing face-to-face. That was down 28 minutes to 3 hours, 53 minutes in 2021. In 2023, time spent socializing increased to 4 hours, 10 minutes, 11 minutes short of 2019.
