There are two ways to look at the location-based entertainment & arts market size - by spending discretionary income and leisure time. The use of leisure time shows just how small the market is compared with everything people can do with their leisure time.
In 2023, the 25-44 age group, a primary target market for most location-based entertainment, had an average of 4 hours, 16 minutes of leisure time daily. But on average, they only spent 4 minutes a day traveling to and from and in attendance at entertainment and arts venues, which is only 1.6% of their total leisure time.
