Wow, the year went fast. Here we are already in the holiday season for Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and the Chinese New Year and Tet holiday in Vietnam not far behind.
It’s been a busy year for us. When you receive this issue, I will be in Montreal, Canada participating in the Experts' Forum on the Development of the Hippodrome de Montréal Area, one of the last undeveloped spaces in the heart of Montreal. The 107-acre site was a racetrack that closed in 2009. The Forum hopes to identify solutions for the area’s redevelopment with 5,000 to 8,000 housing units and amenities that will meet the needs of families and children.
Shortly thereafter I will be making the long flight (20 hours in the air) to Da Nang, Vietnam where we are designing and producing a large indoor and outdoor entertainment and restaurant complex. We’ll have more details about it in our first 2013 issue. Then after the first of the year we will begin work on feasibility and design of a goat-tainment project – adding agritainment to a large goat dairy and cheese production farm in the southwest. Our projects are diversified and that is what makes work on them so exciting.
There are only five days remaining to nominate your FEC for the 2013 Excellence in Family Entertainment Center Awards. To nominate your center for this prestigious award, go to www.FoundationsUniversity.com and click on the link for 2013 Nominations. More details about the award and the criteria can be found on the link.
We have some thought provoking articles in this issue. I’m sure we’ll be hearing from some bowling folks about our article It’s time to reinvent the game of bowling.
And by the way, if you aren’t following me on Twitter, you’re missing a lot of news and good information relevant to the location-based entertainment industry. I don’t over tweet, only a few times a day at most.
Wishing you all a happy holiday and prosperous and healthy New Year.
