In 2001, almost 14 percent of households had incomes of $100,000 or more, up from 7 percent in the mid-1980s. Among dual-earner couples working full-time, 33 percent have incomes of $100,000 or more. Among married couples with incomes, 24 percent of wives earn more than their husbands.
