Vicki Stoecklin, our Education and Child Development Director, spent several days in Saskatoon, Canada training directors and early educators about naturalized outdoor spaces and the curriculums used to support these types of environments. It is exciting to see the passion for healthy spaces spread across the continent and Canada certainly has some momentum going!
During her preparation for the two-day event, Vicki stumbled onto the previously unknown fact that it was our Canadian friends who helped us out during the terrorist attacks in 2001. When our airports needed to close for security reasons during the crisis, it was our Canadian friends who opened their airports and hearts to displaced Americans. On behalf of every American we want to say thank you to our Canadian friends for their support!
