Current projects

Fun Time Early Childhood Academy, Naples, Florida
The schematic design phase of our full architectural and design contract is completed for this new early education building in Naples that will have 13 classrooms, an art studio, a children's library, dance studios, a multipurpose theatre and a parent/community resource room. Classroom equipment layouts have assisted us in completing the details for each room, which will have observation windows and cameras to be used for training purposes. Schematic ideas for the outdoor gardens include an infant garden, a toddler garden and a rooftop garden that includes a drive-through tryke tunnel, art areas, a musical area, climber, tryke path and dramatic play areas.

StoneFire Pizza Company, New Berlin, Wisconsin
Construction has started on the family buffet/entertainment center the WHLLG team has designed. The buffet restaurant portion of the project is unique in that it will have a play and discovery room for children under the age of 8 and their parents. The play and discovery room includes a train table, water table, construction area, climbing structure, face painting and a pretend pizza restaurant.

Davis Farmland, Sterling, Massachusetts
Our annual visit to our oldest client, Davis' Farmland, proves that the concept of a children's discovery farm is great fun for children under age 8. Every year we have expanded the play concepts to include a full-scale discovery pretend farm, water tables, animal areas of endangered farm animals, a large zero-depth water sprayground (slated to expand soon), a peddle/go-kart area, a world-renowned corn maze and a discovery garden.

Child Care Center, Birmingham, Alabama
Our team is providing technical assistance to an owner of a large child care project in the urban core of the city. This new center will house between 200-250 children and has great outdoor spaces for play gardens. Part of the initial consultation included evaluating an existing building for renovation and expansion.

Operation Breakthrough, Kansas City, Missouri
Construction has started on the outdoor play gardens we designed for this urban school setting. This month we designed a large, 15-foot water-table for use by up to 40 children. It will be custom-fabricated for the lobby of this center. The water table will serve as a focal point for the health center that is connected to the early education facility.

Al-Khor Girls Independent School, Doha, Qatar
We provided training and technical assistance for the start-up of the Pre-K and kindergarten classrooms at the new charter Al-Khor Girls Independent School, which is slated to be one of the models Doha will use to set up early education programs. Training included classroom set-up and curriculum implementation. For more about the role of culture and child care in Qatar, go to:
