Fall = Visiting the Farm

The White Hutchinson Leisure & Learning Group has extensive experience in the feasibility and design of all types of family and children's leisure and entertainment destinations including agritainment. Many forms of both commercial sector entertainment and cultural facilities can be successfully adapted to become a second, and sometimes the most significant, source of income for farms. We have worked with farms all over the country over the last 15 years to develop and design successful agritainment projects and to understand the unique market, financial and management considerations of agri-tainment projects.

We really enjoy our agri-tainment work and clients. We learn a lot that can be applied to our other projects (talk about being resourceful with the dollar, just work with a farmer!). Most of all, we enjoy seeing them succeed at a whole new business venture that still retains their roots of farming.

Our most recent agri-tainment work experience includes a visit to Valas Pumpkin Patch in Omaha, Nebraska. If you are from this part of the Midwest I am sure that you have at some time in your life visited this farm that specializes in fall family fun. Here I am ready for the day on the farm.

We spent the weekend analyzing visitor flow in the facility and evaluated the events for their family friendliness. We rode the hay wagon, ate caramel apples, went through the haunted house and observed the shows, including the pumpkin-eating dragon show. I must admit that my favorite activity was the pig races.

And of course, no fall festival is complete without a bag of kettle korn. For a more complete list of our family farm and agritainment projects, go to:
