An
April 2005 New York Times article discussed the topic of children
growing up without nature. A new book written by Richard Louv, Last
Child In The Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder,
cautions against raising the fully automated child. The term "nature
deficit" is a condition the author claims exists when children fixate
on artificial entertainment, rather than on natural wonders. The book
received a five-star rating from Amazon.com.
