Looking back from the future, why did the out-of-home entertainment industry apocalypse happen?

If you missed it in our November eNewsletter, or you just haven't gotten around to it yet, we highly recommend that you read an insightful and thought-provoking article by Jim Kessler, Why did the Out-of-Home (OOH) Entertainment Industry Apocalypse Happen? (www.linkedin.com/ pulse/ why-did-out-of-home-ooh-entertainment-industry-happen-jim-kessler/ )

Jim pretends he's writing the article 20 years in the future looking back and discussing the causes of the out-of-home entertainment industry apocalypse that took place starting in the present year. Due to operators' and suppliers' misguided beliefs of what is required for success, Jim says by 2040 the industry shrank by 50% and the cinema industry by 70%.
