Doing It Right: Licensing and Naturalized Outdoor Play

Our friends down under in Australia have shown us a much-needed resource that we need for our licensing staff here in the United States.  As you may or may not know, licensing standards are different in each state and actually in each early childhood setting, depending on how they are being interpreted by local and state child care licensing staff.  The vagueness of childcare licensing standards for outdoor spaces becomes extremely challenging when licensing is asked to approve a naturalized outdoor play space.
