Recognizing Centers and Schools that Reduce Children's Health Risks

The Integrated Pest Management Institute STAR certified program provides incentives to schools to reduce the risk of pests and pesticide to children's health. Currently there are 35 schools and child care centers that are certified, and more are awaiting the certification process. Applicants undergo careful site analysis of their pest management programs using the IPM Standard for Schools. This 128-page document, ipminstitute.org/school.htm, provides ideas and resources for managing pests and protecting children's health.
