1. Create a realistic and monitored self-inspection program.
2. Have a one-time comprehensive playground inspection conducted by a Certified Safety Inspector.
3. Establish maintenance guidelines for equipment and plant materials.
4. Improve outdoor supervision with training.
5. Remove old equipment that is dangerous or no longer used.
6. Make sure your outdoor play space is in a safe area.
7. Choose the right surfacing to cushion falls under elevated equipment.
8. Factor in the long-term cost of replenishing and redistributing loose fall surfacing.
