Room Layout for Early Childhood Education

Many factors contribute to great room layout. Room layouts are best decided at the time of the initial building plans for the room to verify that furniture will fit into the rooms and there will be adequate circulation and activity space. Also the fixed features of a building can constrain its interior design. Electrical outlets, wall hung storage, closets and doors all have to work to your advantage in creating interior spaces.

Community Playthings, who manufactures high quality early childhood equipment, has put together a great resource on room layout called Spaces. The fourteen-page booklet can be obtained from their toll-free number at 800-777-4244.
