HAND WASHING REDUCES SICK DAYS

Research shows that children who wash their hands regularly have only half as many sick days as their classmates. Richard Moriarty, M.D., a pediatric infections expert at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, says that hand washing significantly cuts down on the transmission of germs from kid to kid to parent. For hand washing to be effective, children need to use enough soap and water to make bubbles and need to scrub between their fingers and under their nails for at least 30 seconds.
