Here we are more than 10 months since on March 11 WHO declared Covid-19 a pandemic, 307 days later to be exact. Back in early March we were working on our March issue of the Leisure eNewsletter. Covid and the lockdowns suddenly changed everything we were writing. It was suddenly a very different and scary world not only for all of us, but for all the location-based leisure businesses across the nation and the world. Everything we were writing about became history in a different era.
Since developments with the pandemic were changing so rapidly, I decided to switch over to using my blog to report on developments in a timelier manner than we could in a monthly enewsletter. Since then, I posted a blog at least every week, 62 in total, to be exact. If you've missed following my blogs, you can sign up by clicking here (www.whitehutchinson.com/ blog/ subscribe/ ) .
I plan to continue posting blogs on timely developments, but a little less frequently than during the past months. We've also decided to re-active the Leisure eNewsletter with this first issue for 2021 in our 20th year of publication. In this issue, we take a look at trends that will be shaping the post-pandemic landscape for out-of-home entertainment and the arts, which we've hoping will arrive later in 2021. We also have a great guest article by Bob Cooney on the existential threat to the obsolescence of anchor attractions FECs have depended on for decades being brought on by six technology trends that will collide with consumer trends to create massive disruption. Bob is one of the world's top gurus on location-based VR, AR, and MR.
If you'd like to explore how we can help you develop a new business or innovate your existing one for the post-pan world, don't hesitate to contact me a randy@whitehutchinson.com (www.whitehutchinson.com/ randy@whitehutchinson.com) .
Stay safe and hang in there. We should get to the light at the end of the tunnel later this year.
